Well, it's been a while since I've put up one of these here. But I figured it's the best way to keep everything in check for those that might care. So bear with me for a moment:
Some of you might've noticed that I've been off-handedly mentioning something I'm working on. I commited to this since New Year's, and I want to kick it into high-gear as much as possible, so that I can finally have something to show for it. This means that there will be less frequent content here and on other platforms. However, I still plan on doing some stuff:
-Mondays will be dedicated to Boku no Hero Academia action shots like the ones I've been doing for a while now. To celebrate the new season, I'll be doing a follow-up quickie after every episode (usually from a character relevant to said episode). So if you have suggestions you have until Sundays to throw them my way;
-I am still contributing artwork for the Beyond the Pale tabletop project, even if not as frequently, due to the creator having been writing short stories based on it to help promote the game as it's being developed. Check out the page to learn more about it;
There might be some interjectors every now and then (I am terrible at focusing), namely based on the shit entertainment that I'm consuming at the time, but that's about it for now.
I've been seemingly absent on this site and others, but as you know, me and heat don't equate to productivity. xP
As referenced in my latest upload, I have been posting some semi-worked doodles on Tumblr, where the sketchbook and less "final" work appears. Figured it's best to present the other platforms that I'm at, if anyone's interested:
.DeviantArt - Main gallery, submit porfolio material and more finished products;
.NEWGROUNDS (here) - Mostly items that I want community feedback from, no sketches or half-assed items;
.Tumblr - As mentioned above, sort of my digital sketchbook, where I post both the finished products and the doodles, as well as some studies;
.Facebook - Hub of sorts for all platforms. I don't like using it, so it just functions as a way to keep track of everything.
As for what I'll be doing now, for the moment I will be dedicating my time to more environment concepts for the Beyond the Pale project I've been contributing towards, so that I have more background pieces for my portfolio, and doing some character design in-between feedback from the "boss". This also means that unless I specifically say, commissions will most likely be closed in the meantime. Once I'm done with environments, I think it'll be time to sack up, and start doing something worth opening up a Patreon. No promises, and no clues, for the moment.
Hope everyone had a good Summer. Cheers.
Go here to look at a fancy (translation: mediocre) banner I did, with the assets I've made for the game I am working on for the Banana Jam '15 Game-Jam.
DON'T get hyped. Just expect a bunch of games to be playable for free (without shitty microtransactions) next month.
NO! Hell NO!!! Of course I'm not, don't be ridiculous (I apologize for using such a click-baity title, though).
Just because I've made three comic strips for each one, doesn't mean I'm all out of ideas. On the contrary, I still have a bunch of ideas that I've written down, from random "Lessons", to more categorical ones (like the recent "is/are OP" category, which I used for an FF Tactics comic strip). And I do kind of want to try and do more of them in the future, for the games I've played, and considering that I have Shaitning Returns as one of my near-future purchases, you can expect at least three fresh lessons once I'm done with that game (since I don't own and don't have any intention of having a new-gen console in the near-future, I am unable to be excited for Type-0 or FFXV).
So it is possible that I may do a new FF Lesson comic strip every so often, and post them whenever they're done.
In the meantime, how 'bout a little commission giveaway? It's open for anyone who I've not yet given a free commission to before, and it's open here on NEWGROUNDS, on deviantArt, and on FA. It'll be involving FF Lessons, to see if anyone can do them as well. Just leave your favorite Final Fantasy game down below in the comments, for a first step, and if I get enough people interested, I'll divulge more info.
'Till the next one.
With FFXIII-2 Lessons done, I'm taking a break from the Final Fantasy Lessons for a while, and a break just in general to cool my jets and do some stuff. I will still be around, and I'll still be posting stuff, just not as frequently.
If you're interested in helping me out, I've a comission guide here: http://henlp.deviantart.com/art/Comission-Guide-v-1-2014-450701102
For anyone with an European 3DS, if you haven't had the opportunity to get a code for the Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire demo, you can have this one:
A066SR972RLYTGAY (I swear I didn't make it up, the last three keys are just the most hilarious coincidence xD);
It's first come, first served, so if you use it up, please let me know in the comments below.
Oh, and enjoy.
Once I've done three Final Fantasy VI panels, the games left (from the main series) will be FFVII, FFX, FFX-2, FFXIII and FFXIII-2. Aside from the main series, I'm considering Crisis Core and Final Fantasy Tactics.
Anyways, once I'm done with three FFXIII-2 Lessons, I might take a lil' break, at least from the FF Lessons thing.
Played Final Fantasy 4? Great! Didn't play it? That's okay too.
As you can see by giving a look in my gallery, I'm currently working on a series of comic panels entitled "Final Fantasy Lessons". And since I've not played any version of FF3, it's now time for FF4. The thing is, I played that game a few years ago, and I kind of powered through, not even giving the "After Years" part a play, so I don't remember much about the game.
So, I'd like to ask you for your opinion! I've already made up my mind on 2 of the 3 panels I do for each game, so here are some of the ideas for the third "lesson", and I'd like you to choose which one you'd like to see:
-Dragon Kings come from the Moon;
-Shoulder balls make you evil, neck balls make you good;
-Turtle Demons are masters of disguise;
-Doctor Frankenstein got screwed in Pop culture;
If you've got other ideas, I'd love to hear them! =D
